THE RATIO OF THE HEIGHT OF A TOWER AND THE LENGTH OF ITS SHADOW ON THE GROUND IS √3:1. WHAT IS THE ANGLE OF ELEVATION OF THE SUN.

In figure, AB is the tower and BC is its shadow. the angle of elevation of sun is angle ACB. 
AB:BC=√3:1= tan ACB
√3:1 is tan 60.
therefore, angle ACB is 60, which is the required answer.
