Answer:

Ashok's income = Rs. 36000

Amit's income = Rs. 44000

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of income = 8 : 9

Let the multiplying factor be 'x'

Therefore, Ashok's  income = 8x and Amit's income = 9x

Ratio of their expenses = 9 : 11

Let the multiplying factor be 'y'

Therefore, Ashok's  income = 9y and Amit's income = 11y

Money saved by Ashok = 28000

Money saved by Amit= 28000

We know that Saving = Income - Expenditure

Therefore, for Ashok, 28000 = 8x - 9y                  --(i)

Therefore, for Amit, 28000 = 9x - 11y                    --(ii)

Solving these two equations, simultaneously,

Equation (i) * 11 and equation (ii) * 9

=> 308000 = 88x - 99y

=> 252000 = 81x - 99y

Subtracting both the equations, we get,

56000 = 7x

=> x = 56000/7

=> x = 8000

Substituting the value of x in equation (i), we get,

28000 = 8*8000 - 9y

=> 28000 = 64000 - 9y

=> 9y = 64000 - 28000

=> 9y = 36000

=> y = 36000/9

=> y = 4000

Therefore,

Ashok's income = 9y = 9*4000 = 36000

Amit's income = 11y = 11*4000 = 44000
