The ratio of the income to the saving of a family is 13:3. Find (i) the expenditure if the income is 11700 (ii) the saving if the expenditure is 9000.​

Given

Ratio of income to savings = 13 : 3

Let , the income be 13x and savings be 3x

then , expenditure = 13x - 3x = 10x

According to question

13x = 11700

x = 11700 ÷ 13 = 900

expenditure = 10x = 10 × 900 = 9000 Ans

savings = 3x = 3 × 900 = 2700 Ans
