Answer:

Description for Correct answer:

Let the length of rectangle = 5x and breadth of triangle = 3x

According to the question,

5x-3x=8 => 2x=8

x=4

Length = 5x =5×4 = 20 m

Breadth=3x = 3×4 =12 m

Required area = Length×Breadth

= 20×12=240 sq m

Answer:

Let the length and breadth be 5x and 3x respectively

Given:

  • Length is 8m more than breadth.

To find:

  • Area of the Rectangle

Solution:-

According to the question....

Length = 8m + breadth

Now we will substitute the value of length and breadth

5x= 8m+3x. [Now let's find value of 'x' from here]

5x-3x=8m

2x=8m

  \sf \: x =  \dfrac{ \cancel{8 \:  \:} m}{ \cancel{2 \:  \:  \: }}  \\  \sf \: x = 4m

So let's find length and breadth

  • Length= 5x=5×4m=20m
  • Breadth= 3x=3×4m=12m

Finally we will find the area of the rectangle

Formula to find Area of the Rectangle:-

  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \boxed{ \red{ \sf \:Area \: of \: the \: Rectangle  = l \times b}}

Area= 20m×12m=  \:  \:  \: 240 { \sf \: m}^{2}
