$l : b = 4 : 5 \: (given)$

$Let \: l = 4x \: and \: b = 5x$

$i) Perimeter \:of \: the \: rectangle = 144 \:cm$

$\implies 2(l+b) = 144$

$\implies 2( 4x + 5x ) = 144$

$\implies 2 \times 9x = 144$

$\implies 18x = 144$

$\implies x = \frac{144}{18}$

$\implies x = 8$

$\therefore l = 4x = 4 \times 8 = 32 \:cm$

$b = 5x = 5 \times 8 = 40 \:cm$

$ii) Area \: of \: the \: rectangle (A) = l \times b \\= 32 \: cm \times 40 \:cm \\ = 1280 \: cm^{2}$

Therefore.,

$\red{Area \: of \: the \: rectangle (A)}\\\green { = 1280 \: cm^{2}}$
