Answer:

Given :-

  • The ratio of the length of a school ground to its width is 5 : 2.

To Find :-

  • What is the length of the width is 40 metres.

Solution :-

Let,

\mapsto \bf Length =\: 5x

\mapsto \bf Width =\: 2x

According to the question,

\bigstar The width is 40 metres.

So,

\implies \sf 2x =\: 40

\implies \sf x =\: \dfrac{40}{2}

\implies \sf x =\: \dfrac{20}{1}

\implies \sf\bold{\purple{x =\: 20\: m}}

Hence, the required length and width is :

\small \dashrightarrow \sf\bold{\red{Length =\: 5x =\: 5 \times 20 =\: 100\: m}}\\

\small \dashrightarrow \sf\bold{\red{Width =\: 2x =\: 2 \times 20 =\: 40\: m}}\\

\therefore The length of a school ground is 100 m .
