the ratio of the length of parallel sides of a trapezium is 5:3 and the distance between them is 16cm.if the area of trapezium is 960 cm find the lenth of the parallel sides​

Let it's parallel sides be 5x and 3x

height=16cm

area of trap. = 960 sq.cm

area \: of \: trap. =  \frac{1}{2}  \times sum \: of \: parallel \: sides \:  \times h \\  960 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times (5x + 3x) \times 16 \\ 960 = 8x \times 8 \\ x =  \frac{960}{64}  \\ x = 15 \\ first \: side \:  = 5 \times 15 = 75cm \\ second \: side \:  = 3 \times 15 = 45cm
