let the common multiple be x
so, length of the playground=5x metres
width of the playground=3x metres

according to the question:
width=66
so, 3x=66
transposing 3 to rhs
x=66/3
x=22
so,
the length of the playground= 5x
=>5×22=110
hence, the length of the playground is 110 metres

Given :

  • The ratio of the length of school playground to its width 5:3.
  • The width of the ground is 66 metre.

To find :

  • The length of the playground =?

Step-by-step explanation :

Let, the length of the school playground be, 5x.

Then, the breadth of the rectangular playground be, 3x.

It is Given that,

The width of the ground is 66 metre.

So,

3x = 66

x = 66/3

x = 22.

Therefore, We got the value of, x = 22 m.

Now,

The length of the playground,

= 5 × 22

= 110.

Therefore, the length of the school playground = 110 m.
