let be take 5:3=5x & 3x
then area of trapezium is =1/2×(a+b)×h
and height 16cm (distance between them)
1/2×(5x+3x)×16=960
1/2×(8x)×16=960
8x×8=960 (16 is divided by 16 = 8 )
8x=960÷8=120
x=120÷8=15
x=15
5x=5×15=75
3x=3×15=45
then area of trapezium is =1/2×(a+b)×h
and height 16cm (distance between them)
1/2×(5x+3x)×16=960
1/2×(8x)×16=960
8x×8=960 (16 is divided by 16 = 8 )
8x=960÷8=120
x=120÷8=15
x=15
5x=5×15=75
3x=3×15=45
