The ratio of the length of the parellel sides of a trapezium is 5:3 and the distance between them is 16 cm.If the area of trapezium is 960 cm root 2.Find the lenghth of parellel sides.​

Answer:

Area = 1\2 x height x ( a + b )

Where , a + b = 5 : 3

Let 5 : 3 = 5x + 3x

1\2 x 16 x ( 3x + 5x ) = 96O

8 x 8x = 96O

8x = 96O\8

8x = 12O

x = 15

Sides :-

5 x 15 = 75

3 x 15 = 45
