The ratio of the measures of three angles of a triangle is 2:3:4. The measure of the largest angle is what ?

\huge\bold{\mathtt{Given⇒}}

The ratio of the measures of three angles of the triangle is 2:3:4.

[To\:find⇒}}[/tex]

The measure of the largest angle.

\huge\bold{\mathtt{Solution⇒}}

Let the angles are 2x°, 3x° and 4x°.

We know that :

Sum of all angles of a triangle is 180°.

According to condition,

2x + 3x + 4x = 180

➳ 9x = 180

Divide both sides by 9.

➳ 9x ÷ 9 = 180 ÷ 9

➳ x = 20

\huge\bold{\mathtt{Hence⇒}}

x = 20

  • 2x° = (2 × 20)° = 40°

  • 3x° = (3 × 20)° = 60°

  • 4x° = (4 × 20)° = 80°

\huge\bold{\mathtt{Therefore⇒}}

The measure of the largest angle is 80°.
