GIVEN

The ratio of the mother's age to her daughter's age is 7:2. In 15 years, mother will be twice as old as her daughter

TO CALCULATE

The age of Mother and daughter

CALCULATION

It is given that The ratio of the mother's age to her daughter's age is 7 : 2

Let Mother's present age = 7x years and

Daughter's present age = 2x years

After 15 years

Mother's age will be = ( 7x + 15 ) years and

Daughter's age will be = ( 2x + 15 ) years

By the given condition

 \sf{ 7x + 15 = 2(x + 15)}

  \implies \: \sf{ 7x + 15 = 2x + 30}

  \implies \: \sf{ 7x  - 2x =  30 - 15}

  \implies \: \sf{ 5x   =  15}

  \implies \: \sf{ x   =  5}

RESULT

Mother's present age = 7 × 5 = 35 years and

Daughter's present age = 2 × 5 = 10 years
