Answer:

Let the common ratio between number of boys and girls be x

Number of boys =7x

Number of girls =5x

As per the question,

Number of boys = Number of girls +8

7x=5x+8

Transpose 5x to LHS, we will get

7x−5x=8

2x=8

Divide both sides by 2

x=4

No. of boys =7x=7×4=28

No. of girls =5x=5×4=20

Total class students 28+20=48

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of girls to boys be 4:3,

If the no. of girls is 8 more than the no. of boys,

So,  let number of boys be x and number of girls be x+8,

\bold{\frac{x+8}{4}=\frac{x}{3} \ },

4x= 3(x+8),

4x=3x+24,

4x-3x=24,

x=24.

So number of boys is x = 24,

Number of girls  is x+8, =  24+8, = 32,

Verification:

Ratio = 4:3= 32:24,

4:3= 32/8:24/8,

4:3=4:3.
