Let the no. of animals in zoo A and zoo B be 3x and 2x respectively,
Animals in zoo A = 3x = 24
x = 24/3
x = 8
Animals in zoo B = 2x = 2x8
= 16
Total no. of animals = 16+ 24
= 40
Then , the ratio becomes = 3:7
Let the no. of animals in zoo A and zoo B be 3x and 7x ,
3x + 7x = 40
10x = 40
x = 40/10
x = 4
3x = 12
No. of animals transferred from zoo A to zoo B = 3x(earlier) - 3x(later)
24 - 12
= 12
