Given - Ratio and number of boys

Find - (i) the number of girls in the school

(ii) the total number of students in the school

Solution - Let the numbers of boys and girls in school be 7x and 12x.

As per the question -

12x = 1380

x =  \frac{1380}{12}

x = 115

Number of girls in school = 7x

Number of girls in school = 7*115

Number of girls in school = 805

Total number of students in school = 805 + 1380

Total number of students in school = 2185

Hence, (i) number of girls in school is 805 and (ii) total number of students in school is 2185.
