Step-by-step explanation:

Let the no. of girls be x and the no. of girls be y.

ATQ,

=> x:y = 4:3

=> x/y = 4/3

=> 3x = 4y

=> 3x - 4y = 0 …..............(I)

=> x = y + 8

=> x - y = 8 ......................(II)

I am using Elimination Method, you may use Substitution or Cross-multiplication Method too.

Now, doing eq. (II) × 3,

=> 3x - 3y = 24

3x - 4y = 0

3x - 3y = 24

- + -

____________

- y = - 24

y = 24

Now,

=> x - y = 8

=> x = 8 + 24

=> x = 32

∴ The no. of girls is 32.

∴ The no. of boys is 24.
