Answer:

The ratio is 7:8.

Let the no. Of blue balls = 8x

Number of red balls = 7x.

Now, 3 red balls are taken out. So, red balls inside the bag is 7x - 3.

6 blue balls are added. So, blue balls inside the bag is 8x + 6.

Now, the new ratio of red ball to blue ball is 3:5.

So, (7x - 3)/(8x + 6) = 3/5.

Cross multiplying gives

5(7x - 3) = 3(8x + 6)

Or, 35x - 15 = 24x + 18

Or, 11x = 33.

X = 3

So, initial number of red balls = 7x = 21

Initial number of blue balls = 8x = 24
