Answer:

There are 40 lilies in the shop

Step-by-step explanation:

ratio of roses to lilies :- 3:5

Let number of roses 3x and number of lilies 5x

We have Given

1/6 of roses and 1/2 of lilies are white

And there are total 24 white roses

Then,

3x/6 + 5x/2 = 24

x/2 + 5x/2 = 24

6x/2 = 24

x/2 = 4

x = 8

Now,

Number of white roses = x/2 = 8/2 = 4

and,

Number of white lilies = 5x/2 = (5×8)/2 = 40/2 = 20

Also,

Total number of roses = 3x = 24

and,

Total number of lilies = 5x = 40

So,

The Total number of lilies are 40
