Solution

Given :-

  • The ratio of the perimeter of a rectangle & perimeter of a square is 5:4.
  • If the length of the rectangle is 18 cm and its breadth is 12 cm

Find :-

  • Length of square

Evaluation:-

Using Formula

\star{\boxed{\green{\tt{\: Perimeter_{rectangle}\:=\:2(\:Lenght\:+\:Breadth)}}}}

\star{\boxed{\orange{\tt{\: Perimeter_{square}\:=\:4\:×\:Side}}}}

First Calculator Perimeter of rectangle,

==> Perimeter of rectangle = 2(18 + 12)

==> Perimeter of rectangle = 2 × 30

==> Perimeter of rectangle = 60 cm.

Now, According to question

( The ratio of the perimeter of a rectangle & perimeter of a square is 5:4 )

==> (Perimeter of rectangle)/(perimeter of square) = 5/4

Where,

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 60 cm

Then,

==> 60/(4×Side) = 5/4

==> 4 × Side = 60 × 4/5

==> Side = (60 × 4)/(5 × 4)

==> Side = 12 cm

Hence

  • Side of Square will be = 12 cm.
