Therefore 7x-9/9x-9 = 2/3

=> 3(7x-9) = 2(9x-9)

=> 21x - 27 = 18x - 18

=> 21x - 18x = -18 + 27

=> 3x = 9

=> x = 9/3

=> x = 3

Hence, present age of Anu = 7x

= 7 × 3

= 21 years

Present age of Ajay = 9x

= 9 × 3

= 27 years
