the ratio of the present age of father and son is 11:3 after 4 years the ratio of their age will be 4:5 find their present age​

Let the common ratio be x,

now present age of father and son respectively is 11x and 3x

After 4 years…

Father’s age = 11x +4 ; Son’s age = 3x + 4

this gives , 11x + 4 / 3x + 4 = 3 / 1

cross multiplication…

we have : 11x + 4 = 3(3x + 4)

11x + 4 = 9x +12

2x = 8

therefore x = 4

Hence, Father’s age = 11x = 11*4 = 44 years.

And, Son’s age = 3x = 3*4 = 12 years.
