Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present ages of RAM and SHYAM be R and S.

R : S = 4 : 3    or            R / S = 4 / 3

R = 4S  /  3 ....…( 1 )

After 9 Years their ages are

( R + 9 ) : ( S + 9 ) = 7 : 6

( R + 9 ) / ( S + 9 ) = 7 / 6

6 ( R + 9 ) = 7 ( S + 9 )

6R + 54 = 7S + 63

6R  = 7S + 63 - 54

6R  = 7S + 9

R  =  ( 7S + 9 ) / 6 .........( 2 )

Equate (1) and (2)

R = 4S  /  3 ....…( 1 )

R  =  ( 7S + 9 ) / 6 .........( 2 )

4S  /  3   = ( 7S + 9 ) / 6

6 ( 4S )    = 3 ( 7S + 9 )

24S    = 21S + 27

24S  - 21S =  27

3S = 27

S = 27 / 3

S = 9 Yrs.

From eqn ( 1 )

R = 4S  /  3 ....…( 1 )

R = 4(9) / 3

R = 36 / 3

R = 12Yrs.
