The ratio of age = 4:3
sum of age =28

age of sheetal = 4*28/(4+3)=16 years
age of sharda= 3*28/(4+3)=12 years

ratio after 8 years=

16+8:12+8=24:20
=6:5

Apoorv15: thanks

See... let the common be '×' therefore, 4x+3x= 28
7x=28
so x=28÷7 (transposed)
x=4 now multiply 4 with 4 to get sheetal's age and with 3 to get sharda's age. (present age).
sheetal's age=16
sharda's age=12
add 8 (years) to both of them and divide sheetal's age by sharda's age to get the ratio.
16+8=24 (sheetal's age after 8 years)
12+8=20 (sharda's age aftr 8 years).
ratio= 24÷20=6:5
so the ratio is 6:5

i hope you find the answer useful! ( A bit of it at least)
