Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of present ages = 5:1

Ratio of 12 year ago age = 2:1 .

Present ages be 5x and X .

Ages after 12 year = 2x and X

according to the question :-

5x + X + 12 = 2x + X

6x + 12 = 3x

3x = 12

X = 4

present ages = 20 and 4 years .
