The ratio of the present ages of a son and his father is 1:5 and that of his mother and father 4:5 After 2 years the ratio of the ages of the son to that of his mother becomes 3:10. What is present age of the father?

Assume son’s age is x, then Father age is 5x.

If Father age is 5x, mother age is 4x.

After 2 years son & mother age can be as follows(Mother age : son age → 3: 10)

3*(4x + 2) = 10(x + 2)

12x + 6 = 10x + 20

2x = 14

x = 7

So the present age of son is 7 years, Father is 35 and mother is 28 years.
