Substituting 1 in 2, we get

(X+4)/(2.5X +4) = 5/11

Cross multiplying, we get

(X+4) x 11 = 5 x (2.5X + 4)

11X + 44 = 12.5X + 20

1.5X = 24

X = 24/1.5

  = 16 years

Y= 2.5 X

  = 2.5 x 16

  = 40 years
