EXPLANATION.

To find the present age.

The ratio of the present age of Anjali and

Ashu = 2:3

Let the age of Anjali = 2x

Let the age of ashu be = 3x

5 years hence,

Let the age of Anjali = 2x + 5

Let the age of Ashu = 3x + 5

The ratio of their age will be = 3:4

=> 2x + 5 / 3x + 5 = 3/4

=> 4 ( 2x + 5 ) = 3 ( 3x + 5 )

=> 8x + 20 = 9x + 15

=> x = 5

Therefore,

present age of Anjali = 2x

=> 2 X 5 = 10 years.

Present age of ashu = 3x

=> 3 X 5 = 15 years.

According to 1st condition ,

The present ages of Anjali and Ashu be 2x and 3x

:⇒ 2x = 3x

According to 2nd condition ,

:⇒ 2x + 5 : 3x + 5 = 3 : 4

:⇒ 4 ( 2x + 5 ) = 3 ( 3x + 5 )

:⇒ 8x + 20 = 9x + 15

:⇒ 20 - 15 = 9x - 8x

:⇒ 5 = x

:⇒ x = 5

So , Present age of Anjali = 2x = 10 years

Present age of Ashu = 3x = 15 years
