Solution :

The ratio of the present ages of a mother and daughter is 8:3.

Let the age of the mother be 8x, and that of the daughter be 3x.

After 5 years the ratio of their ages will be 9:4.

i.e. their ages will be (8x+5) and (3x+5)

According to question,
