  • Let Present age of Pranav = 4x
  • & Present age of Qureshi = 5x

(°•° Given thay their ratio of their ages = 4 : 5)

Five years ago,

  • Age of Pranav = 4x - 5
  • Age of Qureshi = 5x - 5

Given,

The Ratio of their ages = 7 : 9

 \implies \frac{4x - 5}{5x - 5 }  = \frac{7}{9}

=> 9(4x - 5) = 7(5x - 5)

=> 36x - 45 = 35x - 35

=> x = 45 - 35

=> x = 10

•°• Present age of Pranav = 4x = 40

& Present age of Qureshi = 5x = 50

Given :

  • The ratio of the present ages of Pranab and Qureshi is 4:5.
  • 5 years ago , the ratio of their ages was 7:9.

To find :

  • Their present ages.

Solution :

Consider,

  • Present age of Pranab = 4x years
  • Present age of Qureshi = 5x years

5 years ago ,

  • Age of Pranab = (4x-5) years
  • Age of Qureshi = (5x-5) years

According to the question :-

\sf\to{(4x-5):(5x-5)=7:9}

\sf\to{\dfrac{4x-5}{5x-5}=\dfrac{7}{9}}

\sf\to{36x-45=35x-35}

\sf\to{36x-35x=45-35}

\sf\to{x=10}

  • Present age of Pranab = 4×10=40 years
  • Present age of Qureshi = 5×10= 50 years

_________________

Verification :-

  • Present age of Pranav = 40 years
  • Present age of Qureshi = 50 years

Ratio of their present ages = 4:5

→ 40:50 = 4:5

→ 4:5 = 4:5

5 years ago ,

  • Age of Pranav = (40-5) = 35 years
  • Age of Qureshi = (50-5) = 45 years

Ratio of their ages(4 years ago)=7:9

→ 35: 45 = 7:9

→ 7:9 = 7:9

Hence Verified !!
