Given, ratio of sum and difference of two numbers is 7 : 1.

Let the required two number are a( larger ) and b( smaller ) respectively.

   According to the question : -

\implies \dfrac{a+b}{a-b} = \dfrac{7}{1}\\\\\\\implies 7( a - b ) = 1( a + b ) \\\\\implies 7a - 7b = a + b \\\\\implies 7a - a = b + 7b\\\\\implies 6a = 8b\\\\\implies\dfrac{a}{b} =\dfrac{8}{6}\\\\\\\implies \dfrac{a}{b}=\dfrac{4}{3}

Therefore the ratio of numbers is 4 : 3( according to the given information ).
