Ratio in copper and zinc= 5:7

Let the weight of the zinc= x gram

then, according to the question

4.8 : x= 5:7

4.8/x = 7/5

x = 4.8×7/5

x = 33.6/5

x = 6.72

hence, the weight of zinc in copper is 6.72g

Answer:

The weight of zinc and copper will be 20 kg and 28 kg respectively

Step-by-step explanation:

Here the ratio of zinc and copper in an alloy is given to be 5:7

The total weight of the alloy is given to be 48 kg

We have to find the weight of zinc and copper in the alloy

Let us assume the weight of zinc and copper to be 5x and 7x

So, 5x + 7x = 48

            12x = 48

                x = 48/12

               x = 4

weight of zinc = 5x

                       = 5 × 4

                      = 20 kg

weight of copper = 7x

                             = 7 × 4

                             = 28 kg
