Answer:

Let the ages be x and 2x respectively.

So, before 5 years it was:

x-5/2x-5 = 1/3

3 (x-5) = 1 (2x-5)

Now , present age = 3(x-5)+5 and 1(2x-5)+5

again , after 5 years it will be:

3(x-5)+5+5 = 1(2x-5)+5+5

3x-15+10 = 2x- 5 +10

3x-2x+10-10 = 15-5

x = 10

And, 2x = 2×10 = 20 . Their present age are 10 and 20 years.

Then, after 5 years the age of 2 brothers it will be:

10+5 = 15 years and 20+5= 25 years.

Hence, the ratio of their ages is : 15/25 = 3/5
