Answer:

  • Tin : Iron = 3 : 5
  • Alloy containing tin and iron = 872 gm

Let the weight of Tin and Iron be 3x and 5x respectively.

According to the Question :

⇒ Alloy = 872 gm

⇒ Tin + Iron = 872 gm

⇒ 3x + 5x = 872 gm

⇒ 8x = 872 gm

⇒ x = 872 gm / 8

⇒ x = 109 gm

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀───────────────

Weights of Tin and Iron :

⇢ Tin = 3x = 3(109 gm) = 327 gm

⇢ Iron = 5x = 5(109 gm) = 545 gm
