ANSWER:

  • Sides of parallelogram are 40cm and 56 cm

GIVEN:

  • Ratio of two adjacent side of parallelogram is 5:7
  • Perimeter of the parallelogram = 192 cm

TO FIND:

  • Sides of the parallelogram.

SOLUTION:

Let the ratio of the side be 5x and 7x

We know that opposite side of parallelogram is equal.

Perimeter of parallelogram = 192 cm

=> 5x+7x+5x+7x = 192 cm

=> 24x = 192 cm

=> x = 192/24

=> x = 8

Now sides are:

= 5x

= 5(8)

= 40 cm

Other side = 7x

= 7(8)

= 56 cm

Sides of parallelogram are 40cm and 56 cm

NOTE:

Some important formulas:

Area of Square = (Side)²

Area of rectangle = Length*Breadth

Area of rhombus = Base*Altitude

Area of parallelogram = Base*Altitude

Area of Triangle = (Base*Altitude)/2

Perimeter of Square = 4(side)

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length+breadth)
