★ Put x in the ratio

• Numbers are 5x , 9x

• Thrice the larger number is 3(9x)

Twice the smaller number is 2(5x)

According to question :-

3(9x) - 2(5x) = 68

=> 27x - 10x = 68

=> 17x = 68

=> x = 68/17

=> x = 4

Put the value of x in the ratio

=> 5 × x = 5 × 4 = 20

=> 9 × x = 9 × 4 = 36

Hence, the numbers are 20 and 36 respectively.
