Let the numbers be 2x and 3x

If 5 is added to the first number and 6 is added to the second number, we get

1st no. - 2x+5 & 2nd no. - 3x+6

according to question:

2x+5 / 3x+6  = 3 / 4

=>  4(2x+5) = 3(3x+6)

=>  8x+20 = 9x+18

=>  9x-8x = 20-18

=>  x = 2

∴ 1st no. - 2x = 2*2 = 4
