the ratio of two numbers is 5:7and their sum is 84.find these numbers

Let us take the given ratio be 5x:7x.

Sum of the numbers = 7x+5x = 12x.

But it is given 84.

So,

ATQ,

12x = 84.

or x =(84/12)

Therefore x = 7.

1st number = 5x = 5×7=35.

2nd number = 7x =7×7=49.
