Explanation -:

Given :

  • Ratio of two numbers = 7 : 8
  • First number is increased by 20%
  • Second number is increased by 10%

To Find :

  • New ratio

Solution :

Let us assume the number as '7x' and '8x'

According To Question

First number is increased by 20%

 \small\rm{Total  \: increased  \: in \:  first  \: number   =  120\% \: of \: 7x}

⇢ \small\rm{ \dfrac{120}{100} \times 7x }

⇢ \small\rm{ \dfrac{6}{5}  \times 7x}

⇢ \small\rm{ \dfrac{42x}{5} }

Second number is increased by 10%

 \small\rm{ Total  \: increased \:  in  \: second  \: number = 110\% \: of \: 8x}

⇢ \small\rm{ \dfrac{110}{100}  \times 8x}

⇢ \small\rm{ \dfrac{11}{5} \times 4x }

 ⇢\small\rm{ \dfrac{44x}{5} }

 \small\rm {Required \:  ratio = \dfrac{ \cancel{42x}}{ \cancel{5}}  \ratio \dfrac{ \cancel{44x}}{ \cancel{5}} = 21 \ratio22 }
