Let us take two numbers as ‘a’ and ‘b' then

a/b= 3/5 or a= 3b/5

And also a+b= 40

Now put value of a in second equation you will get b = 25 and a = 15.

let the Common ratio is x

so 3x + 5x = 48

8x= 48

x = 6

hence the number is


3 × 6 = 18

5× 6 = 30


so their product will be


18× 30 = 540
