Let one side be 5x and another side is 3x so opposite sides must be 5x and 3x because it's a parallelogram and thus opposite sides are same

Perimeter = sum of all side

64=5x+3x+5x+3x

64=16x

x=4

So sides of parallelogram are 20,12,20,12

hope it is helping you dear

Given :

  • The ratio of two sides of a parallelogram is 3:5 and it's perimeter is 80 cm.

To Find :

  • The sides of of the parallelogram = ?

Solution :

Let the ratio constant be x. Therefore two adjacent sides of the parallelogram are 3x cm and 5x cm in length.

  • Perimeter of parallelogram = 80 cm

Finding sides of parallelogram :

→ Perimeter of parallelogram = 2 × Sum of the adjacent sides

→ 80 cm = 2 × (3x + 5x)

→ 80 = 2 × (8x)

→ 80 ÷ 2 = 8x

→ 40 = 8x

→ x = 40 ÷ 8

x = 5 cm

Hence,sides of the parallelogram :

→ 3x = 3(5) = 15 cm

→ 5x = 5(5) = 25 cm

Verification :

→ 80 cm = 2 × (3x + 5x)

→ 80 = 2 × (8x)

→ 80 = 2 × 8 × 5

→ 80 = 2 × 40

80 = 80

LHS = RHS

Hence, Verified !
