Given:

The ratio of two sides of a parallelogram is 3:5; and its perimeter is 48cm.

To find out:

Find the measure of the sides of the parallelogram.

Solution:

Let the two sides of parallelogram be 3x and 5x cm.

Since the opposite sides of parallelogram are equal.

Therefore,

the other two sides are 3x and 5x cm.

Now,

3x + 5x + 3x + 5x = 48

➱ 16x = 48

➱ x = 48/16

➱ x = 3

3x = 3 × 3 = 9

5x = 5 × 3 = 15

Hence, the sides of the parallelogram are 9 cm ,15 cm, 9 cm and 15 cm.

AnswEr:

  • The measure of the sides of the parallelogram are 15 cm, 9 cm, 15 cm, 9 cm.

Given:

  • The ratio of two sides of parallelogram is 3 : 5 and its perimeter is 48 cm.

Need To Find:

  • The measure of the sides of the parallelogram = ?

ExPlanation:

Let,

  • Length = L
  • Breadth = B
  • (L > B)

Then,

  • B : L = 3: 5

➠ B = 3L/5

Perimeter = 2 (Length + Breadth) = 48 cm

➠ 2(L + 3L/5) = 48

➠ 8L/5

➠ 24

➠ Length = 15 cm

Then Breadth = 9 cm

  • Hence, the measure of the sides of the parallelogram are 15 cm, 9 cm, 15 cm, 9 cm.
