  • Find the weight of zinc in a brass utensil weighing 700 gm.

Solution :

  • As in the question Ratio of copper and zinc in brass is 13 : 7. Firstly we will the Cooper be 13x and Zinc be 7x. Then, weight of copper + Weight of zinc = 700. We will get the value of x and then put the values in the Given Ratios.

\large \pink \star \: Let weight of copper = 13x

\large \pink \star \:Let weight of zinc = 7x

\large \pink \star \:Weight of brass in utensil = 700gm

Weight of copper + zinc = 700gm

 \:  \:

➤ 13x + 7x = 700

➤ 20x = 700

➤ x = 700/20

➤ x = 35

 \:  \:

Weight of zinc = 35 × 7 = 245gm
