Step-by-step explanation:

given:

ratio of zinc and copper alloy = 7:9

weight of cupper alloy= 11.7kg

calculation:

let total weight of alloy is =x kg

then zinc weight of alloy = 7/(7+9) × x kg

= 7/16x kg

and copper weight = 9/16 x. kg

so 9/16 x = 11.7 ( both copper weight)

or x= 11.7 × 16/9

= 20.8 kg

so zinc weight = 7/16 X

= 7/16×20.8 = 9.1kg
