the ratio of zinc and copper in an alloy is 8:7. if the weight of the alloy is 10.5 kg. find the weight of copper in the alloy

Zinc : Copper = 8 : 7.

So, fraction of Zinc = 8/15

and fraction of Copper = 7/15

So, the weight of Zinc in the alloy

= (8/15)*10.5 kg

= 5.6 kg

and the weight of Copper in the alloy

= (7/15)*10.5 kg

= 4.9 kg

Total weight=10.5kg
Sum of ratio=8+7=15
Weight of copper=(7/15*10.5)kg
=49/10 kg
=4.9kg ansewer
