Let the no. be p and q

The ratio of numbers is 2:3.

➝ $\dfrac{p}{q} = \dfrac{2}{3}$

➝ 3p = 2q

➝ 3p - 2q = 0 ----(1)

The first number is 16. Hence, p = 16

➝ 3 × 16 - 2q = 0

➝ - 2q = - ( 3 × 16 )

➝ 2q = ( 3 × 16 )

➝ 2q = 48

➝ q = $\dfrac{48}{2}$

➝ q = 24

The second number is 24 .
