Given : The ratio  describing the relationship between grapes and blueberries in a fruit salad.

Grapes   Blueberries

2              0.5

6              1.5

20            5

24            6

Mandie is making 15 cups of fruit salad.

To Find :  What ratio of grapes to blueberries should she use

9:6

10:5

12:3

14:1

Solution:

Grapes   Blueberries

2              0.5

6              1.5

20            5

24            6

=> Grapes / blue berries = 2/0.5 = 4

6/1.5 = 20/5 = 24/6 = 4

=> Grapes / blue berries = 4

=>  Grapes = 4 * blue berries

Let say Blue berries used = x

then Grapes used = 4x

Total = x + 4x = 5x

5x  = 15

=> x = 3

Blue berries used = 3

then Grapes used = 4*3 = 12

ratio of grapes to blueberries  she use  = 12 : 3
