Given : relationship between the number of bricks in a wall and the length of the wall.

To Find :  When the number of bricks is multiplied by 2, the length is multiplied by

Solution:

Number of Bricks        Length ft

6                                          3

8                                          4

12                                         6

18                                         9

Slope = (4 - 3)/(8 - 6) = 1/2

Length - 3 = (1/2)(Bricks - 6)

=>   Length  = Bricks/2

L₁  = (1/2)B₁

number of bricks is multiplied by 2

=> B₂ = 2B₁

=> L₂ =  (1/2)2B₁

=> L₂ = 2* (1/2)B₁

=> L₂ = 2* L₁

length is multiplied by 2
