The resistance of the material is directly connected to it’s length. Thus when the wire is cut cut into equal parts, then the resistance is also reduced by the number of parts.

When 27 ohm wire is cut into 3 equal parts… then each part will have a resistance of 27/3=9 ohm.

On connecting them parallel to each other, equivalent resistance R is given by -

1/R = 1/9+1/9+1/9

1/R = 3/9

R = 3 ohm
