Let, x be ‐5/6 and y be 5/8

we take( x+y)/2 method for getting the rational number between -5/6 and 5/8

(-5/6+5/8)/2

=( ‐20+15)/24×1/2

= ‐15/20×1/2

= -3/4×1/2

= -3/8

now we take 5/8 as x and ‐3/8 as y

(5/8+(‐3/8)) /2

= (5/8‐3/8)/2

=(5-3)/8 ×1/2

= (2/8)×1/2

=(1/4)×(1/2)

=1/8

l got two rational number between -5/6 and 5/8

rational number between -5/6 and 5/8 are ‐3/8 and 1/8

You continue this process for getting more rational number.
