The reaction of but-1-ene with B2H6 followed by oxidation using H2O2/NaOH gives​

As we all know that B2H6 will reduce alkene into alkane and than when we treat this with H2O2/NaOH, This reaction is known as Hydroboration-oxidation reaction and the final product will be an alcohol. It mostly performs addition of water on alkene(This may be used as a trick).

CH2-CH-CH=CH2 --------------------> CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2OH.

As you can see, H and OH are added on adjacent carbon by omitting the double bond.
